Marbury Walk - 2nd September 2023

Glorious sunny day so me and mark took a trip to Marbury Country park which is only a 5-10 minute drive from us.  Literally on our doorstep.  Been many times, before, but we wanted to take the dog for a walk as well.

We started out at the cottages by the canal where Mark's mum use to live.  Walking through the woodland area which is so peaceful, birds in the trees and we noted quite a bit of new planting has taken place in the area.  Mostly holly planting.  years to come, they create some nice understory for wildlife.

Our route took us up onto the meadows where a tree we planted over 10 years ago is doing rather well.  Planted when I was in Groundwork and help from the rangers we planted a small oak sapling.  All these years later, it's not doing bad.  Planted in memory of all the family members that have passed away.

The park wasn't to busy have to say.  More people around the main car park area. But it was nice that the park was busy without being over busy.  We stopped at Park N Perk for a brew and a sausage sandwich.  Which Hector shared a little bit of.  Spoilt dog.

It was a nice to relax and watch the world go buy and the hot chocolate was rather nice.  We carried on our walk through bluebell wood which was again peaceful and lovely hearing birds in the trees.  Before we returned back to the car.

Marbury Country Park has to be one of the nicest country park to visit.  The small walk we did today, has been one of many we have done around the park and the area offers different walks and areas to explore.  Well worth a visit.  The gallery below contains all the photos I took on our walk so please take a look.
